CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
I graduated from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in June 1976 with a Honours degree in Economics. The Degree conferred was B.A. (Econs) (Hons).
Immediately upon graduation I had short stint at the banking sector. I was employed as the Bank Officer at the United Asian Bank. After a year and half , I opted to join the Malaysian Government Civil Service as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD)in 1978. This is a premiere service in the Government sector.
In the government sector my first posting was as a Budget Officer in the Ministry of Education for a period of four years. This stint as a Budget Officer gave an opportunity to learn and understand the budget mechanism in the public sector.
In 1982, I was promoted as the Internal Auditor in the Ministry of Education. Audit Reports prepared were discussed at the Post Cabinet and Heads of Department meetings.
In 1990 I was promoted again and transferred to the Ministry of International Trade (MITI) and placed as Head of SMEs Promotion Section.
In 1992, I was offered a Federal Scholarship to do Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in the United States. I secured some exemplary results with a CGPA of 3.74.
In 1994, on my return I was appointed as the Principal officer in-charge of International Division at the Ministry of human Resources. This posting provided an international perspective to my career where I had the opportunity representing Malaysia as the Government Delegate to the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. During my stay I managed to secure the consent of the Cabinet to be Member of the ILO Governing Body, a Policy Making Body in ILO, for two Terms (six years). I had the invaluable experience of interacting with the foreign delegates.
In 2001, I was promoted to be the Under Secretary of the Finance Division in the Ministry of Human Resources. Once again in 2002 I was appointed as the Executive Secretary of National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) on better Terms and Conditions. In 2004, I was promoted to JUSA ‘C’ , Super Scale Grade in the Government Sector. Retired from Civil Service in 2007.
In 2008, I was appointed on Contract terms as the Officer in-charge of Parliamentary Affairs to the then Minister of Human Resources, Y.B. Datuk Dr. S. Subramaniam.
In 2010, I was appointed as the Member of the Education Commission for a period of three years. Following that appointed I was appointed as Advisor to TEKUN National, an arm of the Government for micro-credit financing. It was a two year contract. Last year in 2016, I was appointed as the for a ASEAN Project on migrant labour.
